'Paradox of Movement' [2024]
The spinning tower comes to life through the pioneering technique of the zoetrope, first invented in 1834, which laid the foundation for the birth of cinema. 'Paradox of Movement' reimagines the classic optical illusion by combining it with the contemporary craft of digital sculpting, 3D printing, and coding with an Arduino circuit.

Created for the BA graduation show 2024 at London College of Communication, University of Arts London.

The concept behind the installation delves into excessive behaviours related to the pressures of metropolitan living. These behaviours exist in never-ending cycles as does the zoetrope. Each layer represents themes of rumination, compulsive buying, overworking, and looking outward.
